ScAPPergories Makes You Mind Your Words

I am good at English, but I don’t know all the words of it. I decided to try a word game that could really motivate me to learn some more words. Let me review ScAPPergories today.

As I said ScAPPergories is a word game. To impress kids, it has funny animations and music. This game is about writing down words that start with the chosen letter. However, the player cannot choose the letter. He has to punch a sheet and it will provide one. Players can choose their favorite categories like Actors, Capitals and Adjectives.

ScAPPergories will provide points based on the length of the correct words and the time taken to complete the level. To get a high score, a player should come up with a lengthy correct answer as fast as possible. There are four modes based on the count of the letters – one, three, five and ten and there are also three levels of difficulty – Normal, Hard and Impossible. ScAPPergories gives very short time to write the words in the Impossible level.

Using the multiplayer option, a player can join with his friends through Wi-Fi, Bluetooth or Game Center. There is also one online modality, where he can choose among numerous available tables to enter to. If two or more players come up with a same word, then the score gets halved. I tried my skill with this app. I must say it was not very simple to score points with it. One should have some mastery over the words to get a good score with ScAPPergories. To point out the shortcomings of this app, I must say, it limits itself with testing players, skills rather than helping them improve. With those pretty animations, it would be an awesome app, if it shows improvement in this area.

This game is available at the App Store for $0.99. ScAPPergories can help you if you have kids, who don’t have any interest in learning new words.

Rating: 3.5/ 5
