Coeur d’Alene, Idaho – DEVONtechnologies updates its mobile document and information manager DEVONthink To Go with synchronization enhancements and more. Version 2.4.3 synchronizes its databases in the background when the user switches to another app. The update improves sync status reliability, too, as well as compatibility to some WebDAV services. It’s also faster, more reliable, and uses less memory. The update to version 2.4.3 is free and recommended for all users.
DEVONthink To Go is DEVONtechnologies’ document and information management solution for iOS. Serving as repository for a large variety of data types it lets users keep their important documents with them at all times. It offers a rich set of organizing features as well as built-in viewers and editors for many file formats. Document provider and file provider extensions make documents available in other apps, and an encrypted synchronization keeps all data in sync with other iOS devices as well as with its Mac counterpart, DEVONthink, without compromizing the user’s privacy.
Use DEVONthink To Go to put all your text files, PDFs, notes, images, and bookmarks into your pocket and have them at hand even when you are not connected to your office network or the internet:
* Take your documents with you
* Organize your data on the go
* Use super-fast full text search
* Sync locally, via WebDAV, or Dropbox
What’s new in DEVONthink To Go 2.4.3:
The update to version 2.4.3 is all about improving the usability and reliability of the built-in synchronization. When the user switches to another app, DEVONthink To Go uploads changes and retrieves new data unless the user chose to synchronize manually. Should the user lock the device, iOS immediately removes access to all encrypted data on disk. In this case DEVONthink To Go stops the synchronization quietly and retries when the user brings it again to the foreground.
“In today’s world the ability to synchronize huge amounts of data fast and reliably between all personally used devices is key. We’ve built a rock-solid sync foundation that doesn’t force our users to buy into some service we provide. Instead, it gives them the freedom to use any WebDAV service of their choice, including their own server. Other options are Dropbox and direct connections on the local network that need no outside service at all. This update for DEVONthink To Go emphasizes our commitment to providing our users with a flexible and secure sync solution for their valuable data,” comments Eric Bohnisch-Volkmann, President of DEVONtechnologies.
Further enhancements include basic authentification for bookmarks and better compatibility to some WebDAV services. Downloading documents is more reliable, too, and so is the sync status indicator. Finally, the update improves the performance, reduces the memory usage, and fixes bugs and glitches. It’s free and highly recommended for all users.
